DiGI FAQ

How do I know if I have an electronic speedo or tacho?
Most new performance & sport bikes are now coming with these. Look at your tach & speedo, if there are no cables coming into it - then it's electronic!

What happens if I have a speedo cable?
Electronic pulses are created by mounting small magnets to the front disk brake mounting allen screws, and picking them up with a sensor. The digi then calculates/compares these with the pulses from the tacho and displays the gear you are in.This means you can mount it to any bike.

Can it work with my cable drive tacho?
No. Sorry.

Is it difficult to set up?
No the Digi comes with full instructions, and it has a ÔlearnÕ mode, somewhat like a programming a remote for a TV.

My bike is not listed.
The list shows popular UK applications for the electronic speedo & tacho combo, (some of the model names are different!), you will see that some makes use the same color codes for all bikes - so this makes it easy to connect. Remember that even if you have a speedo cable, Digi cable kit WILL work - as long as you have an electonic tach.

I'm racing and change sprockets at different tracks.
Once you have your DiGi installed it only takes a couple of minutes to program -either on a paddock stand or a couple of hundred yards on a straight stretch of road.

Is there anything else I should be aware of?
The only problems we have had are when people do not understand wiring colour codes - Red/blue is a red cable with a blue strip not the other way around. As long as you are careful about that, and solder your connections - everything should be fine.

If my battery is disconnected will I lose my programming?
No, it is stored.

My gear lever is reversed so it works in race pattern.
The Digi will work just the same.

What happens when I am blipping the throttle when change down?
That can confuse DiGi, for a moment, especially if your clutch is in, but it quickly catches up.

Are there an suggestions you can give me?
Yes, read the instructions - then read them again! Most of the problems we get are from people not properly reading the install and programming instructions. Although they are NOT complicated, things have to be done in the right order. It's very much like programming a TV remote control - once you've done it once, you can repeat the process in a fraction of the time.

I lost my instructions.
You can download a pdf file of the install and programming instructions here.
